The Story behind
Craftsmith
About a year into my HEMA journey I had finally completed my first full set of HEMA gear. Shortly after I noticed I was consistently getting bruises on my inner forearm, even with forearm protection on. Besides needing to work on my defense, and considering I am no stranger to tinkering, I took it upon myself to make my own forearm guards from scratch.
Soon after, people started showing interest and asking for a pair for themselves. Then some asked for mask painting, as I had also painted my own, then others asked for different protective pieces all together, and that’s how it all started.
Here I am today, sharing with you my small contribution to the world of HEMA which I greatly enjoy.
Welcome to my workshop! I hope you like what you find, and always feel free to drop me a line if you have any ideas you’d like to see being made.

Fencer Feedback
Overall, I’m very pleased. They are simple, but well done. The buckle that can be used to tighten up the cords could be slimmer, but it worked well. It’s nicer than not having one. The guards are slim, almost suspiciously so on my forearms. This was really nice as Ox and such postures became rather easy. When I asked to be hit harder, I didn’t get any bruises where the guards covered forearms. Jacket alone was another story.
My sparring partners commented that they noticed the edge sliding against the hard surface even when I didn’t notice any hits. I presume the hard surface helps with protection that way too, which I like.
